Louis and Mieke started their own metal trading business in 1988.
The Beginning
Louis and Mieke Kuijpers started their company Louis Kuijpers Iron and Metal Trading in 1988. Louis was still working as a driver for a metal recycling company in Helmond at the time, but when his registration with the Chamber of Commerce was published in the newspaper and his boss saw it, he was summarily dismissed. “If you want to start your own business, then start your own business!” Louis didn't have much choice, so he started his own scrap metal and metal trading company. “His previous employer mainly took on the really big jobs, and because Louis was on the truck, he saw that the smaller jobs often got left behind. He was interested in those. He actually just wanted to keep working for a boss and pick up and process small jobs on weekends and evenings. But things turned out a bit differently.” After years of hard work and slowly building a reputation, Louis Kuijpers Iron and Metal Trading gradually took shape.
With Mark on board, the company grows and Autorecycling Kuijpers is born.
Expansion
Since 1998, Mark has also been working at home in the iron and metal trade, learning all aspects of the business and obtaining his driver's license at the age of 18. For years, Mark worked with Louis and Mieke in their company.
In 2010, Louis and Mieke also opened a branch in Beringe, Limburg, establishing their second iron and metal trading business. Mark would like to start an auto recycling business in addition to the iron and metal trading business. Because permits in Deurne are difficult to obtain, they applied for a permit for the location in Beringe, where the permit application process is much easier. On December 24, 2015, Autorecycling Kuijpers B.V. in Beringe became a reality. He started purchasing and dismantling cars and selling used car parts at this location.
Mark continues the family business with a focus on sustainability
New Generation
In 2017 neemt Mark het stokje van over van zijn ouders om als 2e generatie het bedrijf en met al meer dan 30 jaar ervaring verder te laten groeien. Mieke en Louis zijn nog steeds actief betrokken bij het bedrijf en zijn nog dagelijks te vinden op de werkvloer van Beringe en Deurne. Maar de dagelijkse leiding en bedrijfsvoering is vanaf 2017 de verantwoordelijkheid van Mark samen met zijn vrouw staat hij aan het begin van zijn bedrijf
De toekomst moet groener, met de vele nieuwe regels en wetvoeringen zijn worden we allemaal naar tot een groenere toekomst gedwongen & met recycling als ons vakgebied ontkomen ook wij niet om er alles aan te doen om ons steentje bij te dragen en met meer dan 800 zonnepanelen op onze beide locaties, een elektrische knipschaar de leforte … onze eerste nieuwe volledig elektrische Sennebogen 835E en een nieuwe elektrische heftruck hebben wij de eerste stappen gezet ons bedrijf te vergroenen en proberen we bij elke nieuwe investering en plannen rekening te houden met deze groenere toekomst.
